This is a rough mix of "Romeo" from my new disc "One Night In The Clear". Strictly meant to be a sneak peek as it is not the final mix. This is a demo of a one of my newest songs. My hopes with it was to write a song that was on one hand a protest song against war but was at the same time respectful of the soldiers who are fighting. It's also meant to be a protest song. It never ceases to amaze me at how much bloodshed there has been that man tries to pass off in the name of God. - DC "ROCK AND ROLL PARTY QUEEN" live performance video. This tune is a brand new tune that will appear on Duane's next album. This is from a video camera that was backstage at his performance at The Paramount Theatre in Rutland VT on 11/10/06. "LOVE AND NOTHING" live performance video. This is from Duane's CD release party for "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" at Taylor's Clear River Tavern in Pittsfield VT. It is a new unreleased tune. This video is with The Backwoods Messiahs. If you are offended by the f-word, please don't watch this video. "HAVING A GOOD TIME TONIGHT" live performance video. This is a new tune videotaped at Sidelines in Rutland VT. This features some slide work from DC. "FARAWAY CANYON" from the soon to be released CD "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" Here's a new tune that I know you haven't heard yet. It just happens to be the other tune on the album with pedal steel. I was really pleased with the atmosphere on this one, I hope that you are too. - DC - "SATURN" from the soon to be released CD "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" This track is a nearly final mix. Another song in a show of good faith that "Yes Virginia...there is a new Duane Carleton album coming out". "LOOKS LIKE HOME TO ME" from the soon to be released CD "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" This appeared on my acoustic album "Leaving Despair". My original vision for the tune was as an electric tune. This is a rough mix from the latest sessions for the upcoming disc. I thought I should post a few of these roughs as a show of good faith to prove that I really am working on a new album. Again this is not the final mix of the song. Just a sneak preview. - DC - "TOUGHER THAN THAT" from the soon to be released CD "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" This song is also a rough mix version/sneak preview. There is a live video of this song on the video page taken from The Paramount Theatre in Rutland VT. It also appears on the "Live at The Paramount Theatre" DVD. - DC - "RUNAWAY ROMEO" from the newly released CD "Live And Alone" This song originally appeared on "Chasing After the Stars". "THIS BROKEDOWN HEART" from the newly released CD "Live And Alone" This is a new song that actually appears here live before it is released in studio form. This version was recorded at The Night Spot/Outback in Killington VT on 09/09/04. It will appear on the soon to be released album "Once Lost, Then Torn Down". -DC-
WAR PIGS from the newly released CD "Live And Alone" This appears here because of its popularity in my acoustic set. This particular version was recorded at Taylor's Clear River Tavern on 07/26/03. I've been performing this for several years but in recent years it has taken on a certain poignancy. -DC-
"LONG WAY DOWN" from the upcoming CD "Once Lost, Then Torn Down" This song was written during a particularly tumultuous period of my life. My wife had just been released from the hospital after 4 1/2 months recovering from a car accident. Needless to say, I was a little less than fresh, a little more than frazzled, and inspired by the events and a riff I came up with on the mandolin that she had given me the previous Christmas. This is the demo version of this tune recorded at my house on a small portable digital recorder. -DC- "THE BALLAD OF HORACE GREENE" from the CD "Leaving Despair" I wrote this song for a number of reasons. First, I was inspired after a lengthy discussion with my brother in law, who happens to be a farmer, whereupon he expressed the serious strain that the current milk prices put him under. Secondly, I grew up in Vermont, a dairy state, and over the years had witnessed the disappearance of what I considered to be a great and noble family way of life. If you are a Farm Aid supporter, you should check this tune out. |
